DIY: Three common beauty products that are easy to make!
Deodorant, body wash and shampoo are the absolute beauty basics. Unfortunately, they often contain suspicious ingredients and produce a lot of packaging waste. In our DIY series we show you zero waste recipes with purely natural ingredients. Let’s get resourceful!
Many beauty products today contain questionable ingredients for our health and the environment. From sulfates to preservatives, fragrances to microbeads, they are better left off your skin! Therefore, what better way than to make your own products to avoid harm to your health and to the environment? At CodeCheck we believe in natural ingredients to nourish your health and the earth. The added benefit is you have the flexibility to modify the recipe to satisfy your needs and preferences.
Cut down on waste
Plastic, plastic, plastic! Most of our beauty products are packaged in it, and they all end up in the bin. Waste reduction starts with the consumer. In an announcement for the UK’s statistics on waste, the Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs reveals 2,260 thousand tonnes of plastic packaging waste every year. (data from 2017) Of this plastic waste, 46% is recycled. Indeed, recycling is important, but the added value of creating your own beauty products gives you the opportunity to REUSE and cut waste down even further. Added bonus: it’s economical!
